I have an 89 turbo mini that had the ac compressor removed so i installed the alternator bracket from a non ac vehicle. So what belt do i use and is it right that there is no tensioner just the adjustment i make with the alternator? again the belt only goes on the crank pulley and alternator and of course that belt drives the waterpump. I had a belt on there and the bottom of the belt was really tight and the top was the right tension all this was after I adjusted the alternator.

No different belts needed, the bottom will feel tighter b/c the belt distance is shorter than on the top. And yes the only adjustment is with the alternator.

It doesn't matter which model the belt is for; it's the same belt.

Um, any car that doesn't have A/C? Look under the hood.

one would think that would be the ticket, but if you dont know what a/c compressor looks like, even though its rightout in front of your face, that method may not work

how about if the heater control on the dash does not have an a/c button(s). that might be easier than opening the hood.

common cars to find without a/c are more prevelent in the northern areas.

omni/horizon, minivans, kcars, lancer/lebarron, shadow/sundance, acclaim/spirit/lebaron, are all common cars found without a/c

The 4 cyl. Dakota will also have the chance to be A/C delete. It will have the same A/C delete bracket. And there was one in a KC pick-n-pull that was A/C delete.
