Hey guys, finally got my top end mostly finished. I need to do the i/c piping the way I want next but for now the car runs. Pics start at beginning and work through the project to page 2 Stats are a 782 head ported by tyler, with Steve Menegon's oversize Manley valves (bigger than +1mm but not quite S60 size) 5.7 Hemi beehive springs from Comp Cams with CC LS1 retainers and locks. JRB Header and an S60 turbo with TU 3" SV and 1.125" wastegate hole , The intake is my Blitzkrieg Racing piece with a 58mm TB and a phenolic spacer which really helps the plenum stay cool. Fuel rail is FWDP inspired because the part that they sent me originally (made by Lonewolf) was so poorly machined I had to send it back. After 3 weeks of waiting for a replacement and hopefully better machined and not getting anything I ordered the material and tooling from RossMachineRacing.com and made my own. I got a little carried away with the Earl's Fittings and hose But I really like it after getting to know how it all works.
Anyway, pics here:

I think it looks pretty darn good!
I know you siad it isn't permanent, but if you are running more than 12psi of boost I'd put money on that bellows hose failing in short order. Be prepared to replace it!
I noticed in the beginning you had an AFPR, but in the end it looks like you have a stock unit. What gives?
I also, personally, would like to have seen a slightly larger step beween the exhaust port and header tube to help prevent reversion. Not saying it won't work...just my opinion.
Also, what did you use to adapt the stock hard lines to AN fittings!? I've been looking for something like that. Maybe I didn't look hard enough?
I think my last question: does the intake plenum have any kind of radiusing on the enterances to the runner holes? If not, I'd reccomend trying to do something about that.

The AFPR was temporary from a friend because the rail with it is his till I could get mine back from the powdercoater. Since my bracket is different for the stock FPR I had to use his bracket and AFPR too.

Me as well with a larger 1.5" tube, but I bought this years ago for a pretty hefty sum of $$ when it was the only water and might still be in the desert

The feed is a compression type fitting from Earl's. The return uses tube nuts and sleeves and are a total pain to do with the engine in the car but I'll type more on that later since I'm at work.

Is it just me, or did that intake spacer look like a block of wood?
Sweet setup. Nice work. You going to dyno it or track test it?

I got the spacer material from work. I was told it's phenolic. Either way it does it's job. Plenum stays cool.
Not sure, right now I'm just enjoying driving it and getting used to how the car feels with the 58mm TB on it. Throttle response is RIGHT now. Boost comes on at 1700rpms with the S60 turbo. So I think I need to upgrage the turbo to something a bit larger down the road. Maybe once I get it tuned to my liking I'll throw it on the dyno. And if we have more than 4 track days next year I'll take it to the track.

Phenolic material is basically a synthetic "wood", more or less. It's a VERY good insulator and has a lot of nice properties for many different applications. In high heat situations it *can* get brittle depending on the exact type of phenolic it is IIRC.
Oh...looked at the plenum pictures(forgot I'd seen them many times before! LOL). The taper is certainly better than jsut a sharp 90* edge. I personally would have done a hand "port" radius to it to blend it better, but hey, it certainly works!! Can't complain about that!!

Thank you Reaper. I had my doubts it was phenolic at times too. I have like 8-9 spacers. When they're gone they're gone. That stuff SUCKS to machine!
Check out AN PLUMBING.COM Earls performance products Hose ends Hose,Adapter fittings. They have tube nuts and comression fittings to adapt the stock hard line to SS braided dash whatever line. They stock and have pictures for everything Earl's sells and tech video too! A very informative site.

The header was made by Jessie Buhr 8 years ago or so? He was planning on producing them but the price was very high so he sold his prototype to me. I finally got around to getting it coated and putting it on a car.
I'm running a flashable smec with a Rob Lloyd base cal but tuned my own fueling and spark as well as other tables into it. With the new setup it needs to be redone because the VE is totally different.
