Alright guys here is the plan. I want to take my 1990 dodge daytona 2.5 and swap it with a 3.0 out of a 1992 dodge shadow. So far so good but i am wondering what all needs to be changed besides the engine am i going to have to use the bcm out of the shadow, am i going to have to use the engine wiring harness out of the shadow. Mounts and everything else fits. By the time i am done i am hoping to turbo the 3.0 That should be relitivly easy as long as i have the money.

Ask anyone here, please don't try to turbo the 3.0L

Regardless, I'm not certain that the wiring harness going through the firewall will have the same connectors on it. Beware that you may have to cut the connector off and use the one from the Daytona by soldering it to the Shadows engine harness. I used a 1990 shadow engine harness in a 1994 shadow, and it used the same connectors, but different pinouts. I also tried using a 1991 LeBaron engine harness, after hours of getting the connectors wired on correctly I discovered there were just too many differences such as my car lacking a BCM (I think shadows do not have them?) among many other things.

I would strongly suggest getting an engine bay harness from the wrecker that is for a Daytona 3L. The auto headlights on the Tona require wiring that is not provided in the Shadow. Also, if u do get another harness, make sure to get all wiring rite up to the firewall, sometimes sub-harnesses in the engine bay wont match up.

Good luck

Nothing is really wrong with a 3.0L turbo. In fact, Chrysler built a few prototype 3.0L turbo engines back in the day. There's some cool projects going on in the 3.0L turbo section; some NA and some turbo. There are definitely more hoops to jump through to do a 3.0L turbo as opposed to swapping in a 2.2/2.5 turbo engine. The overall cost will be higher as there isn't much aftermarket stuff available except what bolts on from the 2.2/2.5 turbo and the 3S crowds.

And just as a side. The 3S's (Mitsu 3000GT and Dodge Stealth) are not built by Chrysler. That is Mitsu engineering. The 3.0L blocks are similar, but not identical.

Bang for your buck, 3.0, turbo or not, is an absoloute money pit. You'll go faster for cheaper with a 2.2/2.5 turbo conversion. The 3.0 is a smooth but guttless v6 that is no fun to work on under the hood.

You know what im tired of.....2.2/2.5 guys like this. Why cant more people be like cory? I mean "gutless" V6? You do know that the engine is built for low end torque right? Actually turboing a v6 isnt exactly a money pit if you know what you need and how to do it. You can get alot of stuff used or simply buy from the right place. Brent has gone 12.7 on 10psi of boost. Yeah gutless. Talk to someone who actually knows something about the 3.0 rather than 2.2/2.5 fanboys.
