no, it wouldn't. if you have running on 3 you need to address what cylinder is a problem. the easiest way to isolate the problem cyl is to have the engine running and pull one plug wire at a time the cylinder that doesn't change rpm is your culpret.

at the at point you need to figure out the cause: spark, compression, fuel, valve, follower, cam etc.

If the plug wires have a slip on style non-moulded boot, a basic 12v test light will also work. Ground the TL lead. Then slide the busines end of the t/light beside the wire, into the boot. When it contacts the wire end connector in there, it will take the secondary ignition to ground, killing that cylinder. And no shock to you, no arc'd, pinholed spark plug wires, and no distributor rotors burned to ground to the distributor shaft and no damaged ign coil.

Can someone point me in the right direction.... I am looking for the way to make sure I just put my belt on right or not.

I now know how to check the tension. but don't know if I messed up the belt timing doing my head gasket.

the service manuals are chrystal clear on checking if the belt is on right. there are litterally 100's of posts on this forum that can answer your question. Look for anything posted by NAJ related to timing belt, he always posts exact copies from the FSM with clear pictures of that exact proceedure
