I've got an 85 Turbo Lancer that has developed excessive exhaust smoke. It was running great until I upped the boost (18 psi) and fuel (pig rich). After a half dozen 5 second full throttle blasts it started smoking a lot.

I checked the intercooler tubing for oil and it was clear. The compression was 130 across the board. Seems to be a lot more blowby than before and when I pulled the #4 spark plug I had smoke coming out of the hole.

Any thoughts on what it might be or what to check next?

Unfortunately I was just about to sell the car b/c I have too many cars on the yard. I'm hoping for a quick fix or this ones going to the crusher!

have you checked the intake manifold to see if there is oil in it, it could be a faulty pcv valve, or worse could be valve guides or your oil ring on the piston is shot.

I just had the pcv vented to atmosphere so it won't be that. It makes sense that it could be the valve seal on that piston. I should also mention that the plug on that cylinder looked fine, but I have hardly run it since it happened.
