so i found a garrett A/R 42 M27 turbo in my shop today and it came from a 2.2l and i want to fix it to my 1998 Dodge Dakota with a 3.9l v6, i know of an exhaust shop that can help me with that part of the build but i dont wana go out and buy new pistons... so does anyone know of a place where i could get thicker head gaskets to lower the compression ratio? and the fuel issue... what can i do about that to make my a/f ratios correct, new computer.. or tuner?

and info would be a big help and i want to be one of fiew turbo dakotas on the road!!

You could have a water jet shop cut you new shims for under the gasket. Make them from whatever thickness thin steel you need but do not forget you then need to shim your intake to fit too.

i thought the 3.9 (could share parts with the la's maybe not i know they based it off of the 318 made a different crank but i dont know if they shared pistons and rods if so u can get alll kinds of stuuf for pistons but theres not a lot of after market support for the 3.9 great work motor though i beat the trash out of mine

How about just leave the pistons and head gaskets the way they are and use water injection to deal with any detonation issues.
As for engine management, Megasquirt come to mind.

Given my experience with the four cylinder turbos on a slant six, I'd recommend a second turbo. It's not going to be quite as mismatched as the Mitsu TE04 turbo I had on my slant six, but it will probably run out of breath a bit low in the RPM range if you use a single turbo setup.

The biggest trouble with aftermarket standalones on a 3.9 is that it's an odd fire engine. You may be able to use the distributor from a TBI version with MS2/Extra in oddfire distributor mode, or other standalone systems that work with oddfire motors.
