I apologize if this is in the wrong forum -- FNG posting. I was suggested to post here and turbomopar from the Dodge Forum by MNMopar, so thanks to him for the link.

As the title suggests, I'm looking for all the information on taking on this animal. What year 3.0 would be best, what car should I rip it out of... etc etc, I understand the minivans have less than optimal cam profile, but I doubt it will be a big deal due to the 50% increase over stock in hp/torque anyway.

What I'm wondering is, will it bolt in directly? Will the ES 5 speed transmission work? The Wiring harness, PCM and all that jazz are easily wired up? I've read bits and pieces how this is a direct and easy swap, I'm just afraid to tell my friend it's easy peasy and watch it turn into a whole nother beast.

Thanks ahead of time for all your help!

-Rob

Welcome!

Glad you found your way here. You should get plenty of help on this forum.

Just a heads up though, naming the "other site" on here is kind of frowned upon from the best that I can tell since being here... just for future reference.

Well i am doing a 3.0 swap in my daytona right now. you should try to get same year 3.0 as car. Because you will need whole new engine bay harness, front and passanger side mount, new comp that will fit. Its a pretty big hassle for me so far but i am also almost done

Cool beans, it sounds like it'll be a lot easier to get that 2.4 rebuilt than deal with a 3.0 swap, since in the end he wants to get on the road more than a project.

Thank you guys for your help and replies!
