how often do these mounts go?? i know this mount has a good 285,000kms on it. But after rewelding the spot welds on the lower part of the rad support on the passenger side. i still get that loud Clunking noise, and a nice lil jolt going into Drive. I thought replacing my passengerside control arm would fix it (bushings were BAD!). it helped it a little bit but i still get a good bang into gear. So my next bet was the front mount. Do u guys think thats what it is? if so is there anyway to make it a solid mount?

I second that.. replace all of them or you will kill the new one prematurely (sp?). At least check the others to make sure they are in good shape. .. Also I had some clunks in the front, and found it was the front mount arm was loose where it bolts to the transmission, and one bolt had vibrated out leaving my engine and transmission pivoting on the other bolt. It clunked upon acceleration and deceleration. Lucky i didn't throw an axle. Hope this helps.

Good Luck

it's a piece of cake. just throw a piece of wood on your jack, then put it under the engine to take some of the weight off the mounts. undo the bolts, pull the mount out, remove the insert, put the new insert back in THE SAME WAY (not upside down or back around), then reinstall. expect to pay between 15 and 20 us dollars apiece.
