Hello all..

i know that there can be power had by playing with timing.
on a 16v motor, [any, not mopar specific]

So, with that in mind, if you advance the INTAKE camshaft by ONE TOOTH and retard the EXHAUST camshaft by ONE TOOTH can you liberate as much as 20hp? this is a rumor ive been hearing from friends about 16v motors.. they also mentioned that the car would idle like garbage.. but im trying to find truth to this..

Thanks
Bernard

a tooth is alot.. i would get some adjustable pulleys and do it that way. 1 or 2 degrees can make all the differance

One tooth is defintely a big difference. When mine was one tooth off I would get about 26 mpg on a steady 60 mph cruise. With the timing correct I get about 34 mpg on a steady 60 mph cruise.

Adjustable cam gears are the way to go, as well as a dyno to set them up.
