What are the diff. blocks? How do i distinguish what block i have? Short, Long, Common?

If it's the original one to your car, then it's a common block. Common blocks will have no fuel pump block off plate beside the water pump housing.

Yeah Common block 89 p with no fuel pump block-off plate.Short block is an engine assy with no acessories or a head. A long block is an engine with he head assy on it.
