Yeah. They are a blast to drive. Cant wait to finish other engine. Speaking of engines. when you had car did it have the TIII turbo or the TII on it? It a TIII on it now with 3" pipe. They say theres no such thing as a garret 3" swing valve So Im assumeing its a 2.5 in.

t/u made a 3 in swing valve that fits the garrett, maybe that's where it came from.

No its a Garret. Guess it must be a 2.5 that came with the TIII.

In case Sean doesn't respond, that turbo is a T3 turbo according to Sean. That is what the previous owner told him.

I'm not too knowledgeable in turbo's but I think its whats referred to as the T3/T4 Hybrid. I do know one thing though, Sean got his neighbor to weld the 90 degree elbow on the compressor housing.

Another thing, I measured the inducer and exducer on that turbo. I think the exducer measured 60mm but the inducer measured 2mm larger than what stock would be.

That was a TIII after market. I had to cut the exhaust side of the housing on it as it would point strait towards the head and couldn't get a turbo hose on it when installed, I welded the cut off part of it back on at the factory angle so factory hoses would fit. Not sure about the make of it, but was new when I installed it. I don't recall any markings on it to put a make/model to it.

Time for an update. Started workinh on ports on my new head. just trying to get them to match my stock ports for now. And I just got duel cal chip from Shel!!!! Thanks again Shel-Game!!!!. So I put head work aside to work on smec. have removed most of the gunk from around chip. But need to make a tooth brush pick to finish off removeing it. Working long hours for now so it will be slow going for now. I made a stencil of my stock head and put it in the new one to tell where to cut and reshape portsShelbyNewbys MOD POWER Thread!!! help & advice wanted-imag0028.jpg And heres a pick of smec and chip.ShelbyNewbys MOD POWER Thread!!! help & advice wanted-imag0032.jpg

While I was grinding on my head tonight. I was thinking maybe i should get an F1 cam for new engine. Was wondering if this would be a good idea seeing as how intake a exhaust valves are stock. And need to check with Shell to see if cals will still be good after engine swap. Not sure how diff the grind is from the stock cam. But for now I will go ahead and order poly mounts for engine.

Well ran into a small snafoo with the Tona. Over boost but thats in a new thead. but it has shown me that I will have to beef up induction pipe connections before going to 18lb. On another note I have just ordered my poylbushing mounts. All three. pass. side front and trans.
