usually should seat by 1000 miles, but I've seen it take as many as 2500 miles to seat all the rings. I wouldn't worry yet.
later,

With 140+ on all pistons... You sure you have blowbye?? Sounds like they are seated pretty well.

im still getting oil in airbox from pcv valve. thats why i ask. is normal because the vent tube runs downhill to airbox(oil heavier than air)? just wondering, this should go away when i install k&n filters(cone), right? anyone w/ suggestions on a good clutch pack to hold 325 hp or so? thanks to all.:)

finally got some pictures (trying to make them fit on here turned out to be a task.

K... There will always be "some" oil from the PCV. Now... was the oil restricter back in the block when you reassembled the motor. If not, the head could be seeing too much oil in which case it would come out.

Also, the cover over the PCV set-up in the valve cover. Did you re-seal it?? If you did, you still need to leave a small opening (you'll see when you look at it) for oil to drain out.

ADAM on the oil in airbox issue, i too was wondering why my 35,000 original mileage 86 glhs was pushing very small amounts of engine oil into the airbox, i hate cleaning the airbox every so often, but others here on this site have said this is normal operation for these engines.......so, what i did recently was to remove the line from the airbox and install a small filter onto the end of the PCV-to-airbox hose, and seal up the un-used nipple going into the airbox. i extended the PCV rubber line long enuf so the little dedicated filter is out of way of allowing any extra oil from seeping onto engine parts.

now the PCV can breath filtered air and any blowby drains harmlessly away from airbox and engine.

anyone else doing this?

Yeah, I did something similiar, I have 20,000 km's on my setup and just cleaned the filter for the first time!
