hehe, it is DANGEROUS trying to shift fast without a knob on that thing, I tore chunks outta my skin on a couple fingers doing it. I think I'll wrap some duct tape around it before I take it to the strip today. That slot that goes down the front of the shifter is VERY SHARP.. heh.. And it's a Shelby Charger, shoulda come stock with a Shelby valve cover.. hahaha.. Would be even funnier if it were still carb'd and had a $200 valve cover on it.. haha..
The junkyard is called "Pull-A-Part", they have 3 branches, one in Lakewood, one in Lynnwood, and one in Everett.. Tho I heard rumors they closed the Lynnwood branch..

To ad to the class of the car, take an old broom handle, cut it to desired length, and either create your own "T-Handle" shifter or a thread it on longitudally.

both locations are basically in Lynnwood and both are open.

The Lynnwood pull-a-part is known as ferrils (thats what it was originally 55 years ago). They had a worker get killed there when a tripod holding a motor collapsed on him. I think that started soem rumors. THey have cleaned up a lot of their "pollution" and have avoided being shut down by the lynnwood area EPA people.

Just to let you know, the lynnwood location is more popular then ever. THey had to open up an area that wasnt parking before to make room. They dont always have everything you could want, but they will have at least 15-20 TD's and their prices are CHEAP. Ive never seen anything but t1's there. Lots of turbo vans go through there also.

What track are you racing at??????? PR or the other one near your house?

I wonder if you could adapt a shift knob and an old 2-speed rear switch from a truck for the reverse lock-out? Solenoid operated maybe? I'm thinking too hard now...

If you come to PR, let me know, I live within 2 miles SW of it...

Bremerton Raceway, near my house.. Nice being able to walk home if I blow something.. Tho I'll have my friend in the Horizon there with me so that won't be an issue anyways.. Only problem with Bremerton Raceway is they seem to shut down at dark.. I know PR doesn't do that, as I raced for about 2 hours after dark there the one time I went..

They usually have 20-30 TD's at the one in Lakewood at any given time.. They rotate the inventory every 3-4 weeks it seems.

The Lynnwood one across from Bent Bike used to have TD's about a year ago (when I was last there)... maybe it was two... I'll have to check out the Lakewood one now that I'm closer

Send me a PM when you plan to go, maybe we can meet up and hang out while looking for parts. Seems like I'm there every other payday pulling an engine or a tranny..

See my new thread for dragstrip results with the new setup..

So I've been driving the car for a week and a half now. Only real complaint is one of the front wheel bearings is going out. Pretty normal for me with TD's.. I kill wheel bearings all the time, guess I corner too hard too often. Got an O2 sensor in there finally. The car still has an annoying stumble as I tip into the gas, which is bad enough to stall the engine when cold. I may swap the injectors out for another set, after I confirm the fuel pressure regulator is even working properly.
Got about 1,000 miles on the car now. I did a compression check today, they're all within 5% of each other, about 135psi average. Nice.
