I've got a '93 Shadow ES V-6 automatic, and it needs some more horspower. I'm going to do some moderate work to it to get it running better.

One problem is the stock 2" exhaust system and catalytic converter.

I was thinking of ordering a 2-1/2" aluminized cat-back system from FWD Performance for the car, then going to the junkyard and getting a downpipe out of an '89 LeBaron 2.5 Turbo car (2-1/2" pipe). And add a piece of straight pipe in place of the catalytic converter.

That would give me a full 2-1/2" system, and no cat!

But will the 2-1/2" Mitsu Turbo downpipe and flange fit right onto the V-6 exhaust manifold? The V-6 should be a 2-1/2" outlet after '89.

I have no idea why not.

I will have the same problem when I convert my spirit back to n/a and I have a t2 downpipe that would be useful if it would bolt to the v6 manifold.

You may have to lengthen/shorten the downpipe by a few inches, but it should fit.

Thats sorta what I assumed. I might only get to keep a few inches of it, who knows. I just need a 3 bolt flange on the end and then it would bolt to my 3" system where my downpipe would have attached. .
