Ever since I bought the car it has had an exhaust leak from where the turbo and manifold meet. So today it began! Iv put about 1 hour and 45 minutes into it and all that’s left to come off is the water return line. Im going to get a line socket for it because it really does suck to try and get it with a 19mm wrench. Next is one of the exhaust doughnut bolts snapped. The 4 main mounting nuts still need to come off but I have been blasting them with penetrating oil throughout the day. In any case it’s not nearly the job I was expecting.*knock on wood* I will update as things progress!

Just keep your fingers crossed that the turbine housing isn't cracked...

Yea. I don't think their is any way I can dump $300 to get a turbo rebuilt let alone the downtime with the car apart! One other thing: Noticed some coolent/oil mix in the bottom of the compressor housing. Im guessing that isent good.

coolant in the comp housing?!?! that's a new one for me! If this is true you're probably in the market for a new center section as well...

Well things went south real quick today. Turbo bolt snapped off as I was trying to remove one, the water line was being a PETA but I knew right when the turbo bolt snapped the head had to come off. Had the head pulled in 30 minutes and ordered up all new gaskets and headbolts right afterwards. So tomorrow going to try to crack the turbo loose and get the manifold and turbo surfaces machined by a shop and then its just waiting for parts. Im trying to think of other things to do while everything is apart lol. Anyways that kind of ruined my day but I was pretty happy at having the head pulled in 30 minutes!

Hey man sh*t Happens because I've been their done that...But in my case it was the heater core and that's a Female dog to get out because you have to tear everything apart and at the end of the Job their always seems to be a few screws left over and can't seem to figure out why!!! and that only helped the problem for about 2 months then following my cousin in his AWD turbo talon to his house i blew the seals on my shit-su turbo and this happen about a week ago.

Good Luck and happy motorin!!!!!!
