Ray,
I didn't get a chance to take pictures of how I did it (partially because I was so frustrated afterwards) but it's pretty easy. I took a Mitsu can and cut it off the bracket. Then I just drilled the holes for the can to fit on the bracket. Next, I just angled it so it would fit and drilled a hole and screwed it on the compressor housing using a compressor housing bolt. I also had to cut my actuator rod because it was too long. It touches the firewall just a little bit, but not enough to hurt anything. Plus I have the Poly Bushings adj. bobble strut pretty tight to the engine won't rock back too much.

how much improvement is there with a tbi head versus a stock turbo header? and also how much more difficult is it to stick mount a turbo and route all the hoses to the turbo from there? I would be using a super 60 or maybe a small t3/14 turbo. I have an 88 shadow.

Well in an Omni your choices are very limited. I researched and researched and researched and just like everyone else that has run a TBI header in an Omni, that is basically your only choice. The compressor housing isn't touching the firewall, but it's about 3/4" away. It's a .63 compressor, 50 trim T3/T4 stage I. Believe it or not, once you get everything bolted up, changing the turbo could possibly be done without removing the engine. But I don't ever want to do this in an Omni again! LOL I should be taking it on it's maiden voyage today. :banaride: I would imagine in your Shadow you'd have a bit more room.

From my research and talking to people that've done it, there is a great improvement over a stock exhaust manifold. Obviously the more upgrades you have (ported head/engine work/exhaust/cal etc), the more you'll benefit from it.

my plan is to use either the super 60 or a small hybrid. When I go to the machine shop to drop off my forged pistons I plan on asking them about mild head porting. Everything is being bolted on to a 2.5 CB. Does any one have any flow numbers with a tbi header versus a stock turbo header?

I don't know what it's called-got it from Home Depot. All I know it works. I've had it at 25psi on my S60 VNT and never had a problem. And it's rated for a higher psi than I'll be using on my turbo. And if it does go, then I'll just replace it.

If you can sort through all the madness, there's a thread around here somewhere that someone did a flow test on some different exhaust manifolds and the TBI flowed the highest. And before this thread turns into madness, I personally don't care what it flows. As long as it's better than the unported stocker and does the job. Plus this is my daily driver, my real project is my SRT4 Rampage.

Unfortunately, I can't start it until I finish my GLH, which I am trying to do by today.
