My exhaust needs replacing... Is there a decent upgrade for the factory system? Is there any other factory systems that could be modified to work, as an upgrade.. how about turbo exhaust?.. is it any larger diameter? Is putting on something like a flowmaster worth it on this car? I did entertain trying to fit full dual exhaust on this body... but it looks like only 2" side by side pipes "might" fit... Any ideas are welcome, Thanks! Mike

a good exhaust mod is a turbo...

but if your just looking for pipes www.fwdperformance.com has them, your car dosnt have to be turbo for them to work if i recall correctly.

go w/ the above link's downpipe. 2.5" is ideal stock to mild upgrades. Then 2.5" the rest of the way. If you pay someone to bend it, it will probably rattle @ the rear axle, so I advise the fwdperformance unit.

3" dual exhaust on a 3.0 (24 valve or otherwise) is WAAAYYY overkill. You'll lose a good deal of low end, and it won't help much (if at all) up top. 3" SINGLE should be plenty unless you're going to boost it.

I'm considering 3" duals on my 440CID (7.2 litre)...but even in it's current state of tune, the benefit is marginal....and that's 2x's the exhaust flow/capacity of a 3.0Litre.

2.5 stock @ the downpipe, but what does it reduce to? 2.5 is ideal for the 3.0 from stock to mild modification and 3" is great if you're boosted, but 3" on N/A it will feel like shit.

You said 3" DUAL exhaust.....did you mean 3" SINGLE, and then spilt it to duals? or are you running ACTUAL 3" Dual exhaust? If you're doing Single with a split...that's cool. If you're running ACTUAL DUAL exhaust...that's WAAAYY overkill.
