But you forget, SC sits on the intake, Turbo sits on the exhaust. Totally different exhaust sounds.

if you like fart noises or grinding or angry bees you buy it, probably will still not sound too hot on a turbo car

uh huh even the look doesnt say TD, its something we just dont need, most TDs dont even need a muffler, the turbo keeps the noise down. i'm happy with my 3in system and Dynamax round muffler

The point i was trying to make was that the ideal location for the muffler (for the most power) is at the very end of the exhaust pipe, wherever that may be

you sir, are a tool.
in case you didnt notice, the contruction of these mufflers is *exactly* the same as your dynomax. but stainless. and cheaper.
most of the reason for the way the ricer cars sound is that they are high compression 16 valve engines with very powerfull exhaust pulses that resonate easily. our turbo cars are low compression, 8 valve, and have a turbo in the way, so the exhaust pulse that makes it to the muffler is much less powerfull and creates a deeper less raspy tone regardless of type of muffler.

You sir can't see whats in front of you, I have a 16V High reving Turbo car that apparetly you didnt know either, I have stainless steel exhaust front to back, and no matter how i drive it, it would never sound like killer bees and you know why, because its the MUFFLER, hondas stock mufflers they dont sound like that, its the coffee can. to each their own opinion, i never started out to call anybody names, beleive what you want.

I believe what ive experienced in the real world, not what i "guess" it will be like. so youve got a 16 valve engine. but its still low compression and has a turbo. but im sure it would sound exactly the same as a honda engine with the same muffler

Why, he's talking reality. You are wrong.

If you feel so strongly that we are wrong, buy that $10 muffler and put it on, then you can feel stupid for disagreeing with us.

Interestingly, I put one of these on a friend's Subaru Legacy. It's a 16v boxer 4 with 9.5:1 compression. It doesn't sound like bees either. It's incredibly throaty and mean. The only down side is it rests against the frame because of how it's hung under the car, so it causes a bit of a resonation inside the car. But then again, the boxer engines always sounded good in my opinion. Very different from an inline 4.

On a related note, the "silencers" included with these mufflers don't really help.

I've noticed scoobys always have a kinda cool growl, turbo or not. And they are never obnoxiously loud either IMO. Even when I was standing behind one with a 4" "muffler" on a dyno, it still wasn't terrible. Weird.

They do on N/A cars. A customer with a 1.5L Civic has one, it sounds like shit but take out the baffle and I can't even hear myself think inside the car,

Sorry, I didn't specify. The Legacy was an N/A car. But it's possible it was just a crappy silencer. I mean, it made some little difference, but it was so slight. Mostly it just killed the higher raspy sound. The deep rumble stayed the same. If you have some advice for making it work better, I'm all ears. I tried stuffing steel wool behind the silencer and that worked for a little while, but then it clogged up because the car was running rich at the time.
