This isn't quite "turbo" stuff but I hoped you guys can help me.

I run a 2.5 Daytona in a local circle track class. Our rules state that parts have to be "stock" on the motor. My motor has a stock shortblock, "good" head, multiport injection setup, and probably soon to have a "good" "stock" cam. My problem that I see is that the exhaust manifold is very restrictive. Since I have to have a stock manifold on I don't have many options.

My question is this, was there a "stock" Non turbo manifold that flowed better then the rest? I can "help" the manifold flow more but I'd like to start with the best from the factory. Does anyone know what would be the hot exhaust manifold to get is?

I appreciate any help I can get!!

The manifolds from the N/A engines are your best bet. They require modifing alittle to run turbo(flange).

Here is how it would look...
my van setup(comments please)

I have to run an N/A flange. I'm not allowed a turbo. I'm asking if one N/A manifold flows better then the other.

I believe this part is one in the same. If I were you i'd locate a carb'd and a TBI car and remove both exhaust manifolds - flow bench them, I dont know if there is a difference in those two and do doubt the possiblity but could be possible.

It's hard enough to find a TBI car around here let alone a carb'd one. And a flow bench is about as rare as a sober Lindsay Lohan.

Seriuosly though I don't have the time, resources, or money to buy 2-3-4 manifolds and flow bench them. If I knew what I was looking for I could watch ebay or something like that for one. It's kind of like the 1.22 transfer gears. Their uber rare but if you know where to look and know how to ask you can get a bunch

I probably will just work the dog snot out of what I have but I would like to try and find a better one. This manifold really is the choke point with what I want to do.

I'm not trying to be mean so I really hope I don't come off as it.

I can't afford to just "see" I'm in a points race and "seeing" can cost me some real position.

If I can get a definite yes/no answer then I will get one to work over. If it's just a "well maybe" Then I'll stick with the worked over piece I have.

Again not trying to be mean, I really appreciate your input. I just don't have the ability to buy and hope.
