I just replaced my motor in my '87 Shelby Z, for awhile it was running on an '89 common block 2.5 T1, now it has the original 2.2 T2 back into the bay...I have a custom downpipe that was made to fit the mitsucrappy turbo, it definetly doesn't fit the garret goodness on the back...I believe that the outlet of the '89 mitsu was a 2.5" while the outlet of the garret is only 2.25", will this really make that much of a difference? I am trying to use the same exhaust donut, should I order a new 2.25" donut? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yea donut and all should work fine, I used a 2.5" mitsu downpipe with a t1 garret turbo, but I think I did have to do some minor grinding on the inside of the bolt holes in the flange.

'87 and earlier = narrow pattern DP bolt flange
'88 and up = wide pattern DP bolt flange

u will need to oval the holes in the exhaust flange

yes 89 mitsu should be 2.5" outlet ; get a 2.5" SV on that Garrett !!
