I'm running a 3 inch system with a 3 inch high flow cat and no muffler. It is not too loud to me and has a nice tone. I do most of my driving to work at around 60 to 70 and it isn't bad at that rpm actually a nice tone. I did get a 3 inch dynomax with my system but I thought it was too quiet when I just hung it on the end of the pipe. I have thought about getting a straight bullet muffler to change tone but haven't yet.

Will a straight through muffler help with overboost? It's becoming a problem.

That's what I'm running. It is right after the cat and exits out the back. The car is a 2.2 Turbo II. Here is what it sounds like:

I am looking for gray interior trim for a J-body (1987-1989) LeBaron coupe hardtop. If you have anything please PM me before throwing it out. I am also selling tan trim if you're interested.

It's a stock T2 Garrett controlled by the stock computer. I do have an S60 computer and 3 bar map but I still need injectors.

You won't be sorry. It sounds great, and more importantly it performs so much better. Around 3,000 RPM it just comes alive. It's a completely different car.

So the computer still controls boost. What exactly is it doing and what have you checked.

It overboosts when I'm accelerating, sometimes at only half-throttle. A bunch of the plastic vacuum lines broke and I put rubber vacuum line between a vacuum block and the lines. At first I think I hooked up the wastegate to the wrong solenoid line but I'm pretty sure its hooked up correctly now.

You would be best off to gut the entire vacuum system and run new lines from scratch.

ok, well I don't know how you guys all got good sound quality....maybe my camera just sucks. But here's my car, it has stock TII exhaust all the way until the pipe size necks down for some reason. That was fixed to match the rest, and then I have a 2 1/2" magnaflow 4" round muffler. Also, my car sounds great accelerating, yet when the engine drops in rpms....well, you'll hear it.

Well my camera for one thing has stereo mic's, and records in 44khz, 16 bit, essentially cd quality. Most point and shoot style cameras dont have such things.

Also, put some distance between the camera and the car. When you get it too close the exhaust is too loud for the mic on the camera and woofs it out.
