How interchangable are the exhaust manifolds from like the suck through to the blow through?

You would have to do some grinding to on the turbo mounting flange to clear the intake runner, thats it.
You can use the manifold on your 91 with no mods to swap over to a garrett.

crazy is correct altho brief in his desription

from allpar.com

"Turbo manifolds from log intake motors may need to be notched to clear the intake runner if using a late model T1-T2 intake."

the early-TI and late-TI/TII exhaust manifolds are *almost* exactly* the same, with the primary difference being that the later exh mani's had a clearance notch in the turbo mounting flange which was added to clear the "new" 1-piece and 2-piece intake manifolds

there is a corresponding notch in the turbine housings of the turbo as well

10-15 minutes with a 4" angle grinder or good bench mounted grinder and you can remove the offending material from both the exh mani and the turbo turb. housing

sweetg, i picked up a t1 head assy with manifold and turbo and wanted to port it/get it coated. my question about differences is answered without asking. thanks TD!
