Trying to plan out my exhaust... plan to order in a few days! Going to buy all the bends and weld myself (did it on my neon, full 2.5" system). Thing is, not sure if the stock cat is going to flow well enough to keep around. If not, id probably get a cheap cat-co from summit.

So im thinking 2.5" catback w/ dynomax muffler and do a cutout on the downpipe... but I'm open to suggestions!

(long term plans are a much larger turbo, but I want it quiet and stealthy for the street... use the cutout for the track, hence why I opted not for a 3" system)

Get a High Flow cat-co, with my 90 daytona V6 i went 2.25" with resonator and high flow cat and passed fine through emissions, my reading was like 825 out of 1200 limit and that is while its only 2 weeks old. My engine now has a bit more power in the upper rpm range now.

2.5" cats are like $40 on ebay. I noticed a big difference between 2.5 and 3" exhaust systems. The other thing to keep in mind is that it may be 2.5", but it's also not a modern high flow style, and it's almost 20 years old, full of crap blocking it.

Go with a 3" system that necks down to 2.5" or 2.25" Towards the rear. The exhaust gasses have cooled more towards the rear so it doesn't need to be as big. That'll keep it quieter.

Another thing to consider is gutting the stock cat if you don't have an e-test.
