I just changed my oil and oil filter as normal. By the way i got 91 Daytona and 2.5" catback. Now its been sometime that i hear a bubbling noise or something happening inside the exhaust, not sure maybe its nothing but do you think is it bad or just normal. Dont know how to explain it but when reving is fine and once you take your foot off the gas it makes the noise like steam blows, bubbling, gas bubble, bubble gas dont know what that is. HMMMM anyone heard the noise b4, it might be normal but once i had my stock pipes and muffler it was fine and once i upgraded, wasn't that bad but now!!!???

every once in a while my coolant boils if its too hot under the hood or if air got into the system somehow. It would easily be drown out by the exhaust. When your done driving around one of these days pop the hood and listen carefully right after you shut the car off, youll usually still here it for a second or two.

Yea exactly its the same thing once i shut the engine it makes it for a second but a bit louder than once it was running. So is it any problem or just steam going through exhaust pipes, Do you think it should be fine.

When you first shut the car off, look inside the overflow jug. If it has an exhaust smell and/or bubbling, it's more than likely the head gasket. The OEM was prone to failure. Ma Mopar still makes the Mopar Performance gasket for these motors. If you can't get the MP gasket, look for a ROL brand. There are others out there, but DO NOT use Fel-pro.

They may have improved the design. I know years ago, the Mopar I4 gaskets were blowing in less than 3000 miles, turbo or NA. Ever since I had 3 Fel-pros fail in less than 10,000 miles back in '03, I've stayed away from fel-pro HGs. Been using ROL, and never had any probs from theirs. FWIW, the ROL is similar in construction to the MP gasket, and has the "headsaver" shim already installed.

No my gasket is fine and the car doesnt overheat its just some kind of noise thats coming and going. Right now it doesnt make it as before. I wish i never have to replace my gasket as its costly.

what size exhaust are you running its not just the exhaust "talking back" is it i dont know what else to call it happens when you go a little oversized exhaust and you actually pull a little cold air back in depending on the muffler it may kackel like glasspacks I don't have any muffler on mine just a cat it's a 2.2 with a little bit of an exhaust leak but it sorta sounds like your describing my exhaust stops behind the drivers door at a 45deg angle does it do it when you gear down ?

I got 2.5" full catback with high flow cat converter. Muffler is Borla. Yea like when i down shift or rev it, as soon as rpm drops, it makes the noise.. If its just a air or something i dont care as long an its not mechanical.

Well you said the head gasket is okay and it's not overheating so I really don't know what else it could be does it do it worse when its cold my does because of the extra fuel in the pipe my injectors are just a tad big with the cal I got but not bad. If you can get under the car you my check for exaust leaks I had a real hard time getting the donut behind the turbo to seal up on mine because of the difference between 2.25 and 2.5 exhuast before I knew there was a difference . Do you have actual water or smoke coming from anywere? because the Turbo oil/water feed lines had problems with leaking at the head or Turbo or coming apart and thats a serious problem depending how bad it is so I would check those I suppose the noise could come from one of those spraying stuff on the turbo housing

No smoke or anything. I heard the older cars like 80's had oil/water problem and some of them even catch on fire because of not replacing them. I havnt replaced them and not sure if prev owner did it. Actually im going to see Simon, his very good on TD's and he will let me know whats going on.

these cars catch on fire when the oil lines to the turbo break? I've heard of the fuel lines being an issue. What happens, does the turbo get hot enough to ignite the oil.
