I agree, about as good as a log style. The purpose of that tube in the intake is to slow everything down to the same speed before it enters into the cylinders. You want the exhaust gases to remain separate for as long as possible. MPG mike had a log style that was like that, but different. My opinion is that you would be better off to have straight runners instead of the fat tube.
That kind of curling down will work to clear the intake manifold, but too low and you'll start running into clearance issues with the oil return, axle, turbo mount (if you use one) and a myriad of other items that are normally below the turbo.
