im looking at the 2 kits. TU's shipping is a little cheaper, and its $10 cheaper in price. im pretty sure TU's comes with the hangers welded on too and the FWD one doesnt. does anyone have a preference between these 2 or should i just go with TU cuz its cheaper? and how are TU's shipping times? i've had problems with FWD shipping stuff out.

thanks,
nick

I just picked up the TU 3" system for my Tona, shipping was good and the parts look great. The one hanger came packaged seperately though, I was under the impression both were welded to the pipe but I guess this leaves room for play. Havent gotten it all buttoned up yet but it deff looks nice for the price.

Its because the TU exhaust doesnt really fit properly. I had to cut mine up to make it fit. Ive got pictures if needed.

I dont know that the FWD fits either.

The JRB style fits.

I cut the 90 90 deg pipe in the middle so I could clock the one end towards the exhaust tunnel instead of the ground.

I was using exhaust band clamps and I actually had to pay shipping for the hanger they forgot to include.

I had the fwd one for the lebaron and had do dice and slice to make it fit at the over the axle section. No hangers were included.

I am looking at the 3" as well, so from what you guys are saying is that there is "some modification required" on both sets? I know that I have had to do some of that before on an exhaust that I had for a different car, but I am looking for the easiest one to put under a Daytona.

Here is a recent thread on the TU kit install.

REVIEW: magnaflow muffler and TU 3" cat back

I know it fits ALL P and G-Body vehicles. One hanger is welded on and the other is included (un-welded) since different P/G body vehicles may have different hanger locations. The OP was able to install it with a little tweaking. He seemed more upset because it wasn't an easy drop in as advertised. I guess everyone has their definition of a "simple" install. I installed mine without any difficulty and so have several other customers.

I can tell you i have the TU setup. Its good.....however under the IROC its not going under without some modification. Nothing toooooooo difficult though. Id say right now its the best choice out there if you cant the the JRB.

JRB=Jessie R. Buhr. He sold is exhaust kits and contacts to FWD. FWD's exhaust kits are JRB systems.

so since people say to go with JRB, i should get the FWD one? i just dont know how to weld and i do all the work on my car myself, so i'd like to get as close to "bolt on" as i can. if i have to cut something, i'll have to clamp it together again because idk how to weld yet

yeah mine just need a little cut off in some spots then I could clamp it back together. Your only prob is going to be that you will need at least 1 of the hangers welded on. So you may have to rig it up(coat hanger) till you get the hanger(s) on, so i would plan to take it somewhere soon when you get it on.

My FWD kit I got a couple years ago didn't come with any hangers, I had to rig up my own.
It fit fairly well, only troublesome spot was between the fuel tank and coil spring.

My TU setup is supposedly being shipped, I know of a FWd setup that hasn't been installed yet and I'm thinking about buying for my other car. I can probably compare the two side by side soon.
