I ended up just using a chamber cherry bomb from the local speed shop. Only GM V6's I know of with that drone are the 3.8, 3800, & 3300's... and we all know they suck anyway. :P
I never did like a quiet mopar.

So I through it on the ole V8 and called it a day. That is all I would ever use them on. Sucker wasnt cheap either!!!!
you have a different thing then cause mine was like 26 dollars to my door and doesnt sound ricey at all its a straight through glasspack not a muffler

The muffler wasnt cheap, it was over 40.00 compared to the speed shop cherry bomb that costed under 20.00 and is still sounding mean.

Be careful, I use to look down at those supercharged 3.8's... Until I've seen them run 11.4 sec in the 1/4 mi...consistantly! They sound like s*it if they don't have the right mufflers, but when they do, I find them pretty impressive...... And I hate GM..

Challenge it in an auto-X see who is more consistence then! Those whales for w-bodies shake like a wet noodle when it comes to handling. Sure you could beef them up with a lot of aftermarket support, but an old skool TD doesn't really need any of that as long as it's upkept.

I'll get a chance to see how well my little SC handles one day! I've got the x-member out having it stitch welded and fitted with the heavy duty rear strut mount! Rebuilt front suspension with Moog and Energy Suspension upgraded bearings and modified bearing plates, upgraded front and rear brakes to SLH3, need either Addco or Poly Bushing sway bars... haven't decided whom I'm gonna go with. I'm thinking PB may have a better product... Addco has been around a long time and covers a large variety of vehicles and their product is good. Wish I hadn't bought these LRE auto-X springs cause I would love a set of those Koni coilovers....anyway hopefully this little monster handle it's butt off once I'm thru with it.....

For any of you looking to purchase one of these cherry bomb glasspack style, make sure you look inside it before you put it on. They are directional due to the louvered core. If you set the louvers up to catch the flow, it will be less loud, but more restrictive. If you set them up so the flow goes over them, it will be louder, but less restrictive. I've tried it on both my van and talon, it does the same thing each time.

I prefer a 3" chambered muffler with a cut out for racing. Nice and quiet until you open it up : )

They used to have arrows stamped in them to show direction. I just started hearing about cherry bombs again after 25yrs... I thought they fell off the face of the earth.

Why not search for a perforated 4" bullet or 6" round resonator that's 22-28" long! Those louvered glass packs are power robbers, no matter which way you install them the louyers disrupt the exhaust gas velocity by creating turbulence! High exhaust velocity is one of my best friends!

Or do what I did. Drop the exhaust system and simply run a short downpipe to where the exhaust is directed under the car. My NA 2.2L didn't sound half bad with the mani-only setup.

And in case your wondering.......I used this setup for a quick test-drive right after getting the head back on. I'd been out of my Mopar for so long, I said fark the noise ordnance and drove it for about 15 minutes.
