whats a good quiet 3" muffler? my exhaust comes back over the axle then bends 90 deg and goes under where the spare tire well was. its cvlamped at the 90 so i can pull that part off. i want to put a real quiet muffler on that extension part because the local cops are crackin down on me. so am i looking for a stock muffler form a pickup with a 3" or a magnaflow? i have no idea where to start to make an exhaust quiet lol

thanks,
nick

Auto or 5spd? with a Auto you're gonna need a quieter muffler than a 5spd.

It cant be any louder then a SRT-4... I like Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers, nice deep tone that isn't too loud(quietier then open pipes~I prefer that).

The dynomax ones and also cherry bombs, as I have found out from the members and through my own research on and off of the forums...

Dude says 'quiet' and you say 'cherry bomb' WTF

I've had good luck with Borla on other cars I own (pretty decent idle and cruise tone, louder when you're on it)... just never tried one on a TD.

yeah its a 5spd. here's how my exhaust is... 2.5 DP, then goes to all 3"... 30" cherry bomb glasspack, over the axle to a short bullet muffler, 90 bend to another bullet, then out the pass side of the bumper.

that last 90 with the bullet comes off with a band clamp. so thats the pipe i want to make crazy quiet for daily use then when i want to be loud, i'll just take it off. the drone is bad inside the car (rear half is stripped out too) so im not looking for flow because when i want good flow i can take that part off. im thinking about just going to napa and telling them i need a regular muffler with 3" in and out

I imagine cause if a cops following you, you can upshift sooner (with a stick) to keep your R's down (and therefore, the exhaust quieter).

My turbocoupe has a single 3" full exhaust with a stainless magnaflow straight-thru and it is quieter than my 2.5" duals with dynomax superturbos was. The dynomax mufflers droned a lot.

They seemed relatively quiet on our cars....course I am used to riding in a roadrunner with 3 inch exhaust and a 500+ horse GTO with sidepipes....so for me it really DOES seem quiet...lol

And the GTO is a friends...I'm not tryin to act like an ass

because The Auto car is always under more load, which makes it louder.
