What is the best box and ratio for the L body. I want to get rid of the power steering hoses and pump.

If you go with a manual rack, the ratio sucks. I have a standard Omni power rack without lines run to it (it's completely dry inside) and it works great for me, nice blend of not too many turns lock to lock, and not too hard to steer around a parking lot. I've loaned the car to my little sister, and while she does b!tch about it, she is capable of using the thing.

AFAIK there is only one manual box for the L's ; linear, 18 or 20:1 ; SLOW ..

maybe one of those spinner knobs ?

Ive got a manual rack on my GLH and I really like it! It sucks if your not rolling but at speed I like the feel of it! Its probably not great in an autocross situation but I would gladly give up turning speed for the extra room in the engine compartment and those leaky PS hoses!
