One question, is that going to clear the starter?
It's designed to clear the starter and power steering pump. And also designed so that the swingvalve remains at the stock or near stock location so that downpipe mods won't have to be made. This header along with some other things is just one of the parts in the works in the quest to make a 2.2 8V make power beyond 6000rpm.

this header probably wont show significant improvement over a ported stock manifold unless you are real close to making 300 whp. but then again not sure on that yet either. kevin

I noticed something about your header as well as Alabama mans. Why are you guys cutting the flange between the ports. I could see the thought process of less chance of warping but that takes a bit of the clamping force off of the one side of the port.

I also have a couple things in the works, finally got my own TIG instead of using works so it is easier to do stuff in my free time.

your right about the thought process when put in the oven and brought up to 1800 degrees it wants to warp because the way the flange has to be on our fine intake exhaust same side flanges design.what tig did you get thinking of buying one myself.

I picked up the Lincoln Electric TIG 175 Pro. Havent actully gotten it hooked up yet since I only have 12AWG wire going to the garage and that wont handle the 50A this thing is supposed to draw.

The Miller SynchroWave 180 is about the same thing but a little mor pricy.

does it relocate the turbo or keep it in the stock location? Could you use it with a 3" SV? Ive heard (dont know for a fact) that it is difficult to use Alabamaman's header AND a 3" SV because it relocates the turbo.....anyone know if theres any truth to this??

that is a very good tig for the money that wiring issue is easy enough to take care of .we will have to hook up at sdac and pop some tops.kevin

just out of curiousity, if one were planning to make similar headers, will regualar 16ga header tubing be enough to stand up to the heat of a turbocharged engine, or would you have to use structural tubing or something similar? please forgive my ignorance

Did you have the flanges machined out by a shop or did you mack them your self? I've thought about making an equal lenght 14g stainless header but dont have the equipment to laser cut or fab flanges.

It looks very nice"thumbs up
