Does anyone here have any experience with these? If so what are your impressions. Also, what about the FWD Performance unit? They both look the same.

I just want a good manifold that is ported but has material removed from the right spots and these two don't look bad for the price.

Thanks for any advice.

I am looking for gray interior trim for a J-body (1987-1989) LeBaron coupe hardtop. If you have anything please PM me before throwing it out. I am also selling tan trim if you're interested.

Very nice piece. I used one on the GLHS for 3 years. It's now on my Daytona. Worth the $$$

They are both the same part--a stock exhaust manifold that has been ported.

Here is a question though. I have a VNT, which is $180 from FM, but a TII would be cheaper and I could get it ceramic coated for less. I don't plan on sticking with the VNT. So, what I'm asking is, is there any difference between the Turbo II manifold and the VNT manifold besides where it bolts to the turbo?

Okay, total mechanical moron here, fair warning. What exactly are the advantages of a ported manifold? And if someone is really bored at work, what does the manifold actually do? Pretend like you're talking to someone in grade school so I can understand it

The VNT exhaust manifold is the same as the T2, except for the VNT manifold has a higher nickel content and has a stud on the turbine flange where the T2 uses only bolts.

All I needed to know.

That alone will save me a good amount of cash.

And Ronin, the simplest way I can think to explain it is that an exhaust manifold is designed to help draw the exhaust gases from the engine. Porting it allows for more exhaust to escape at once and reduces friction, but you have to remove it from the right spots. Simply making the hole bigger doesn't work.

Correct. The VNT's is made Ny-cast or Ny-resist... I can't remember... but CRACKS. All the ones from VNT cars I have pulled off were cracked. Same material was used for the turbine housing, too. (I believe)
Also, the FM ported VNT manifold is simply a stock T-1/T-2 manifold that has been modified to accept the one stud. I bought one from them years ago. Wish I knew that then.
