Well i went to a mufflershop awile back to see how much 3" would cost. they told me $5 or $6 i believe per foot plus bending. I would like to know how much I would need and how many bends. I know with a mitsu 3'' causes boost creep so I wont be doing it for awile if ever. But he also told me that it would not fit over the axel. is this true? Can I run it to back of car? thats how i want it. i may begetting 2.5 when i get outa debt.

Are the bends mandrel or crush. Cause Crush bends suck BAD. Try and get a garrrett with the 89+ 2.5" SV or get the 3" SV from TurbosUnleashed. Then get the 3" d'pipe from TU or FWDP and FWDP's catback exhaust for your car. It's all pre-bent with Mandrel bends and will clear the rear axle.

I have a full 3" from FWD all the way back no cat. It fits over the axle but I will tell you mine makes noise when I take off and go in reverse. It vibrates against the Axle but I guess I deal w/ it for performance. It might quite down once I get the carpet in and the hugh hole in the rear well fixed.

Adam it'll quite cheap to get a system bent because they will not be mandrel bends. There is no mandrel bender in our province. If your looking for a cheap temporary system then just get a 2.5" sytem bent. it'll be better than stock but nothing like a proper 2.5-3" mandrel bent system.

I remember a fellow TD'er telling me in cost hime 90 bucks to get a 2.5" system bent and installed on his TD here in saskatoon, no muffler though.

With a mitsu, i think 3" even crush bent is plenty. You have 2 bendsd plus the hump over the axle, and then maybe a slight angle to make it go straight out the back. I'd say 9-10 feet, top of my head.

He sounded like he wasn't keeping the Mitsu. The mitsu likes to creep with modded exhaust I've heard from numerous people. If he's gonna get a bigger turbo why not just wait and spend the money on a good mandrel bent system rather than redo the exhaust twice. A wise man once told me it's cheaper to do it right once than wrong a couple times. Just something to think about.

true - if you seriously plan to go to a garrett (which means your engine would also have to hold up to more than 15psi of boost) get the 3" from FWD. If mitsu is your way to go, then it isnt worth it.
