It's time for a few upgrades to the little car. I plan on installing a 3" exhaust with no cat.
I want it QUIET!
This is my primary driver and I refuse to run around with a fart cannon or loud/annoying exhaust note.
The idea is to run a 3" system with no cat and a decent muffler.

What do you guys suggest?

A warlock. Keep it capped to keep it quite, and when you decide to open it up, you can just uncap it. The exhaust pipe may be in an odd place though, due to the fact that it is an offset design. ~~Heath

I have a 2.5 inch warlock on my van and its fairly quite except at high idle. Can't really hear it once you get up to speed even with my exhaust exiting right behind my door.

I run a 3" Edelbrock RPM series (5525) where the cat was, and a 3" Hooker Max Flow (21605) where the stock muffler was. Flows very well (dyno numbers and 1/4 mile times were with this setup) and is very quiet.

Only way that is going to happen is probably with the Warlock muffler like someone stated.
Do a search on the late Gus Mahon's site and you'll see tons of technical info on these cars. Gus does a homebrewed intercooler pressure-drop test and does a test on a few mufflers. The muffler tests include backpressure tests with home-made flowmeter, AND decible tests with actual decibel meter (can't remember exact name right now)
Anywho... the Warlock was chosen for Gus' car since it is a Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde muffler. Capped, it is quite and flows ok. Uncapped, it is fairly loud, but flows excellent.

I used a Magnaflow straight through oval style muffler. You know, your typical ooking muffler like a flowmaster or so.

It was a 3" in/out and was an offset tip. Car was very quiet in my opinion.

3" Super turbo #17698, almost as quiet as stock. And flows extremely well too! It's BIG but fits perfectly in a Daytona.
