im getting a 3" swingvalve from relentless and im wondering if it will be too much for my street car. i know that the turbo will love the large SV but will i be giving up anything in the lowend by going with it over a 2.5" one? i drive the car on the street mostly and dont want to get it so that its only a high speed driver.

Low end will not suffer.. Actually your spool-up will be better so you should gain some.

On the subject of the 3" swingvalve:

The RP unit uses a header-style mount to the exhaust pipe so I was wondering if anyone else here using this unit on the street would tell me how they dealt with the engine rotation under accel/decel. The stock version has the 2 springbolt things holding the exhaust into the SV like a ball joint so it can flex there. I can get a 3" dia. flex-joint from Canadian Tire that's about 12" long altogether, and I am intending on putting it in the 45deg angled section between the turbo and the cat - under the "transmission hump". Just wondering what others did.

Thanks,

James

I got the TU 3" swingvalve. It uses a 3" donut and springs/bolts like the factory setup. Couldn't be happier with it.
