Picked this up at a car show today for $20... came off a Neon that hit a tree. The guy said this is all that was salvageable!

How do you think it will look/sound on my Caravan?

My van is kinda a mockery of ricers out there... I already painted things yellow!

... you're right! I have to do that! Wish I knew how... everyone has their own theory, but then someone else will say that their idea won't work

Well, I hooked it up temporarily to hear what it sounds like, and it isn't a ricey sound at all! It's a nice low bassey tone. Sounds really good actually.

As for interior resonance, it sounds pretty loud, but so did the setup I had before that! Of course, I only hooked it up under the sliding door, so I can't really say yet.

Trying to figure out if I should run a 2.5" or 3" pipe to the rear...

Run 3 inch to the back, that way, if you change your mind later, your exhaust is already done.
I figured it would sound good, those glass packs sound good on Turbos, the Supras, RX7's sound good with those on!

You say that now but once your bitten, you can't stop. I said the same thing last year and havent stopped. Its like a drug, I want to hit 13's in the 1/4, then next will be 12's etc, lol! Go with the 3 inch system now, its not that much more and when you get a bigger turbo, you can get the 3 inch DP and notice even more power.

Well, if it won't suck with my current motor setup, why not I guess, right?

As soon as the thing gets registered (still have to do the brakes too, dumb caliper thing! (long story))

You could do what i'm working on, 3 inch downpipe to a cutout, then a reducer so it's 2.5 out the back for easier clearance, quieter and everything.
Eventually then i'll put on a mccord powerplate or something like that, so i'll have a nice quiet exhaust and then a 3 inch downpipe at the flip of a switch

Did you just idle or did you rev it at all? A lot of ricer pipes are decent sounding at idle but fart like crazy at high rpm.

I reved it pretty good too, and it just sounded like a nice tuned exhaust! Like a BMW or something... I'll get some sound clips of it as soon as it's installed.

its not the big muffler diameter size that makes it sound like junk..... its one of two things

1. Small 1 7/8" diameter pipe poking into that 3" muffler makes a rice rasp

2. running lean cause you run a header and intake and big exhaust on a motor with no fuel addition due to the stock speed density system. the short stroke doesnt help either.... listen to a 2.2 vs a 2.5, the 2.5l is smoother.
