On an 84' Dodge Daytona Turbo Z, I beleive it has 2 1/4" on it stock. If I get a 2 1/2", Will I have to change the turbo outlet?
Also, Where do you guys get your exhaust systems? Im looking for some good prices. ('Im a tight ass') :thumbs up

The turbo will then be a 2.25" swingvalve, which will not bolt up to a typical 2.5" downpipe. However, many take the stock dp and weld about 4-6" of it to the 2.5", so you can keep the same Swingvalve. This is not recommended if you intend to make serious power out of your vehicle, however. That will then become the bottleneck.

You can use a 2.5" downpipe and catback exhaust on a 2.25" swingvalve. you will need to take a dremel or similar tool and elongate the bolt hole openings on the downpipe flange and bring them closer together until they match the holes on the SV. The donut is a tight fit, but will seal and work fine. I did this to my 87 SL a while back. 3 years later and still no leak at SV/DP.
Later,
Cindy

I just did that on my 85 new yorker with a 2.5" downpipe from an 89 T1 car, opening up the holes is easy.

Since it was brought up......just how much of a bottleneck is the 2.25" swingvalve if going to a 2.5" exhaust on a garrett with ported head and manifold....?
