These engines have the same requirements as any 'musclecar'. Hot filtered air on cold start and cool filtered air after warm-up.
I dunno what level of fabrication skills you have. If this is a daily driver or you want to drive it when its cold, you'll want to keep the stovepipe. If you don't care about cold start drivability and have time and gas to warm up the car every time you want to drive it anywhere, you can open air filters to fit the top of that carb. If you get a tall one and cut a hole in the hood, you could probably make it fit under the factory cowl hood thingy to make it functional. I would stay away from anything ricey.
Unless you have done some serious work to that motor, I doubt you'll see any real gains.
I would look to see if a K&N drop-in is available and call it a day.
