Just wanted to share some pics of my top end ready to go back onto my 2.2 CB shortblock with wiseco's, T2 rods w/ARP, and cast tbi CB crank.
Specs of top end-
Fully ported +1mm G head, 061 springs and hardened locks
ported 2 piece intake, TU fuel rail, +40's, 52mm TB
heavily ported exhaust manifold drilled for standard T3 flange
TO4B H trim turbo with .63 stage 3 turbine (flows 53 PPM, a 50 trim TO4E flows 47!)
TU hybrid Z bracket and wastegate
ATP 3'' V band swingvalve

All this is in my 88' shadow ES running 25 PSI boost on pump gas. Looking for atleast mid 12's at 112+ mph on pump gas, on saturday the 26th hopefully!

Potent setup you got there!
I am curious what the downpipe looks like.
Just take it nice and slow on the tuning.

Thanks. I recently took the head off because the guides were sloppy. So I replaced them, and while it was off stuck on a ported 2 piece intake. The exhaust side is all the same as was on it before, this setup has like 4000 miles on it.

Ask and ye shall receive! It's ATP's tight radius 90* elbow at first, and a 45* bend to center the downpipe back to the stock location. Even with the tight radius 90 elbow, this swingvalve/downpipe is far superior to the chrysler style because the exhaust gets to go in a straight line for a few inches before turning down as opposed to hitting a wall right away.
Excuse the welding, using non-shielded flux core with my mig here. Looks like crap but atleast it's sealed LOL. I welded it with the the head on the car because I couldn't get everything lined up until it was connected with the turbo. So it was quite a challenge to get in there and weld anyway!

As for the tuning, I'm doing my own cal's with SMEC electronics using D-cal, it's not hard just time consuming to get it all correct. Having the G head really makes a huge difference over any of the base cal's out there, I have literally over twice the timing advance in there in pretty much the entire timing tables compared to a stock G head cal, because of the 7.4:1 compression it needs a lot more advance, and also the stock cal lack's advance already.
I have the staging limiter set to 5000 RPM, and I will go from there. I've launched on street tires at 4500 and only have to short shift 1st gear. Oh, well I also have a dual stage boost controller setup set for 17 PSI low and 25 PSI high boost. I'm quite sure I'll be making some adjusting for the slicks, but right now I'm not sure what to expect. Hopefully the track won't be crazy busy so I can get a lot of runs in.

Lookin good, hows that v band workin out does it seal up good ? I was considering a v band but was worried that the band would bind up or tear up the flange.

I had an H trim on my car for little while but never got to the track with it before it died on me but she would bust the front tire loose on the highway at 70 mph in 3rd gear witch it wont do with the s 60 thats on there now.

The V band is the BEST! Kicks the pants of the stock bolt/spring downpipe, those things are a PITA, this takes 30 seconds to hook up! Seals great.

Yeah the car does make some insane power, doesn't get full boost until 4000 RPM but I shift at 7000 so essentially it's like having the same powerband as normal just 1000 RPM higher.

Well, all back together friday night but now a new problem has come up. Got everything running great, went out on the highway and this turbo'd civic pulls up beside me flooring it and letting me hear the BOV. I saw his IC as he was running up behind me anyway. I'm running 17 PSI at this point. So he gets in the right lane and runs up beside me letting the BOV go some more giving me this big grin. I laughed as I downshifted, well that pissed him off so he punches it. I spooled a little slower so he was 1/2 car length ahead of me for a split second. As soon as I hit full boost.....seeeeeyaaaa. I put a bus length on him in 1 gear not even winding it out. He kept back then LOL. Here's where the bad part comes in. I get off the highway now, and notice my oil pressure is lower than normal (mechanical aftermarket gauge). Pull up to the light and my engine starts knocking...noooooo! I'm only 2 miles from my house at this point, so I decide to limp it home nothing over 2000 RPM. By the time I got home it was knocking LOUD and oil pressure was 0 at idle. I guess this is what I get for smoking a honda
If it's not one thing it's something else. So I had to cancel my trip to Cecil county dragway yesterday. Time to pull the pan and see the damage. Not sure if I'll have to pull the whole engine to fix this though, that will really suck if the crank is scored.

Here's some pics anyway. Hard to see the TU fuel rail, but notice the regulator on the strut tower.

Just for the record, you going to do a comp. check as a diagnosis aid?

Ouchies! Sorry about your loss, darn it! I had similar problems but I ran it lean and knocked and cracked a piston. Installed a used piston all new rod bearings and rings. Now I just have to get my call dialed in, mine is running good now- except for the cal.

For what? A knock accompanied by no oil pressure....what has that got to do with a piston? I don't really want to turn the engine over any more than necessary right now. Plus it takes 20 minutes to drop the oil pan, no big deal.
Besides, the cal I'm running has the check engine light flash on knock feature, and it did not go off. Also my A/F was in a safe margin, green on the dawes. Plus I'm running forged wiseco's! I know not completely industructable but the likelyhood is extremely low here.

Yeah it sucks. Is your car the 92' in your sig with SBEC electronics? I don't have any chips for SBEC though.

Thanks! Nice part is I got all the machining done for free. My bro took it too work and cleaned it, decked it .006'', honed it for my wiseco's, and installed the new freeze plugs and intermediate shaft bushings.

^thats nice.
Bummer on the knock man. Hopefully no damage done and you can stick a HV pump on it and be done with it!
