I think this thread should be made stick or put in the FAQ. Myself as well as others often point people to this thread due to the high volume of vacuum questions (i.e. how to clean up the harness.. etc. etc.)

OK, to start with I have an '85 GLH Turbo that I am trying to take off the factory vacuum box and replace it with a vacuum block. My questions are as follows:
1) What do I do with the factory electrial plug-ins?
2) What do I do with the 2 lines coming out of my firewall?
3) My EGR is plugged off, so what do I do with the vacuum line from it?
4) My fuel evaporator has 2 lines (1 big, 1 small), where do they go after
I remove the factory vacuum box?
Has anyone ever done this conversion? If so, can you tell me in easy step-by-step directions so I can convert my car ( an '85 Turbo 1 all stock)?

Leave them hooked up to the solenoids.

2 lines out of the firewall?? Do you mean by the brake booster, under the inlet/outlet lines for the heater? You leave those lines hooked up, one to the brake booster "T", the other to the diverter valve for the coolant lines. That is IF you are keeping your heater.

Well, If the EGR is plugged off, throw the vacuum lines in the trash can.

You can leave them in place. Mine are still there with no issues.

I really need to take a picture of my vacuum setup in my 86 GLHT before I rip it out to TII the car.

A person i sold a regular TII vac block setup to said that it fit in a spare 3/8 NPT port that is located in the front of the manifold somewhere. I dont have a TIII intake to look at...

I did what many others here have done. I just switched the charge temp sensor to the other side, although I do not use that sensor for anything more than to plug a hole.
Originally, I had it mounted off of the brake booster fitting on the rear of the manifold, but there was one problem with doing that; exhaust heat would get to the silicone hose and it would split over the barbs, even if it wasn't stretched over them much. Once cooled off the silicone hose was perfectly fine. So, to the front of the manifold it went.
I would imagine all this heat would eventually do a number to regular rubber / viton hose also if given time.
FYI: FWDperformance's silicone hose kit is what I used, and it is darn near enough to do the entire vacuum system on our cars. Definitely worth the $33 or whatever it was. Highly recommended. While I was still debating how I wanted to do my vacuum harness, I had some loose connections here and there and at 11 PSI I never had a line blow off. It is good stuff.
One interesting place I was considering mounting the vac block was on the strut tower bar. Just one big vac line going to it and the rest is out of the way of the engine and such.

You can buy the complete TI kits with the right fittings in the fs section...
