What's a good intercooler bang for buck wise? On a budget, what's a good intercooler I could buy for the least $$$?

why not just get the nice spearco and never have to worry about upgrading or that the lesser IC is holding you back? I know $450 is alot of cash but if you only have to do it once you will be further ahead in the long run. Mike

Just start with a stock TD i/c. When it becomes restricive, get another and weld the cores together. Keep using this method

Not everybody has $450 laying around for a car part. Did you even read the title of the thread? . I second the TII idea. Also I have heard the SRT-4 are not bad for the money. Cheep tircks are the TDs speicalitys

I've bought Spearco's that many Speed Shops and "Vendors" sell for upwards of $550, for $100-$200 on ebay. You just have to be looking at the right time. There is a guy on ebay who sells "Treadstone" intercoolers, which are an exact copy of the infamous 1080CFM Spearco Intercoolers. They go for around $300.

Another that works quite well is the Mishimoto ones. They go for $165 on ebay. I know a guy with a Shelby Charger, that runs around 22PSI with a Fastburn Head, and had a stock intercooler. Switched to the Mishimoto and dropped his E.T. over .5 seconds.

Here's a link to a Mishimoto: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...981660562&rd=1

Sorry, I guess my point was to say- is it really cheap when you have to do it twice.

Good point. Just like pistons, you can buy 2-3 sets of cast pistons or buy forged once.

... but you aren't going to crack an IC with detonation. Resale on a busted piston is pretty low.

MKIII supra is a good inexpensive cooler that's easy to install , and a nice upgrade from a stock T2 cooler . An MKIV Supra cooler is even better , and not much more cash , but you'll have to be very creative with the plumbing .
