the bolt that grounds the fuel rail and bolts down the fuel rail is stripped. Ive been reading and some say to use a helicoil if I can make sure I drill it perfectly staright. If not too confident, then epoxy a treaded rod and use a nut on top and that'll work just as good. your opinions towards this. its on a 88 1 pc intake.

Loctite makes adhesives to do exactly what your talking about (gluing a stud into the intake), and they work VERY well.

thanks. I'll assume its at all major parts stores and its calles loctite tread repair or something like that?

Loctite is more like a glue for metals. How much is this thing going to be on and off? I'd just try a little bigger standard bolt if you don't plan on pulling it anytime soon. Then next time you have the head off fix it.

NAPA carries Helicoil kits I think. If you leave the other bolt in, you can use the rail as a guide to stay straight. I would go ahead and do both of them, one at a time as a precaution.

well I got some permtex metal filler. gonna clean the hole today with some brake klean and let the stud sit overnight. I'll let you know.
