I discovered that canned air that you can buy for cleaning dust out of electrical stuff works really well when held upside down- two cans could cool your IC down to a frosty level.

a cheaper way is to rent co2 from pepsi, coke or whoever will let you....pay the 50 bucks deposit on the bottle and the co2 is only like 5 bucks for 10 pounds. that will be way cheaper and last for a long time....

Kool, thanks Im gonna have to try it at the track.

Maybe hook up some vaccum lines from the interior to the core so when you are at the line you can spray it. Will it travel that far?? I dont really think a vaccum line would work, maybe more of a boost gauge line.

easiest way is to stop after the timing shack and spray it down with ice cold water then go park in the staging lines with the hood up and it facing away from the sun. Then spray it with a mix of water/alcohol/acetone from a spray bottle when the water dries off.

Way too far. It'd be useless.

Just do that I/C Speayer you were talking about!

I have an IC sprayer already but I am using the little cans as a supplement- one can will get ice forming on the whole thing- another can will get it really icy. Just have to apply it as close as you can before you do a burnout- I am having my brother do it for me.

That 'air in a can' is very costly...

$3-$4 per can. No it's not cheap but going quick never was.

If I can gain a tenth or two and run more consistantly and cooler- then yes to me it's worth it. I think I have been to the dragstrip six times this year and will probably go six more times yet. So it might cost me $180 to use it the rest of the year- that sounds reasonable to me.

For that price you could probably fab up a pretty nice removable dunk tank for your IC that you might submerge it in ice water at the track.

Might be king of hard to dunk your IC just before you do your burnout but it only takes a few seconds to have your buddy unload two cans of air on your IC as the guy in front of you does his burnout. I guess this trick is not for everyone- I just thought some might see a benifit from it. I'll let you all decide if it is cost effective for your own cars.

For that price you could raise your octane considerably and not need to cool the IC.
