what exactly is required for this swap

any porting involved or is it a bolt on with the 46 mm sensor's

matching of the manifold inlet to the throttle body is required. And I believe all the sensors either swap over or are the same.

Sensors do indeed swap over!

Also, depending on what model you got it from, you might have to swap over the actuating arm also, if its bolted on!

the AIS is different between them, the 52 tb has a larger hole and larger AIS plug. I just use the sensor on the 52. Some arms work, others need swapping. Also this is a waste of time if the neck of you intake is smaller than 52mm. The 1 piece intake for instance has a tiny neck and the 52 is bigger. The 2 piece intake gets larger after the tb, so porting it larger and using a 52 works great. Other option is modding a 1 piece or custom intake.

I disagree on the AIS. I am using the AIS off my 46mm on my 52mm with no issues.

mine idled funny and both the holes and the AIS plugs are much different in size. I wonder if they may have made different 52s over the years between the 3.3 and 3.0

Maybe? My 52mm is of a 3.8L. Idles awesome with the stock 46mm AIS.
