sounds to me that the vnt venturi vanes have stuck in the closed position witch would spool you up real fast then choke the exhaust off that would cause the power to drop

Well im not sure if its the problem or not but if you have a A/F gauge see if it leans out when you overboost and if it does theirs your problem.
