i was looking at the Turbo xs type H RFL, and it says that it is adjustable from 10-40 psi or something. does that mean it wont blow off, unless it has at least 10 psi. because my 88 lebaron GTS 2.2 turbo only has the stock boost of like 7 psi. so would it still work.

I have read that if you use a manifold vac source it wont be a problem at low or high boost.

I dont think that would cut it for most aftermarket BOVs. not enough pull through there. I have mine caped off.

just tee it into the vacuum line for the fuel pressure regulator.

I would not tee into that line. It would just be another potential point of failure for a very critical piece.

That is perfectly fine. My RFL at low boost lets off just fine and my vacuum sorce is the top of the TB. If I am out of vacuum 2-5psi it will even go off. Use the nipple that is closest to the drivers side fender.

I had the RFL on my Lancer and Omni for a long time before i sold it to my brother. It would go off just fine, even when shifting at 0' vac/boost it was very audible. I never had a problem with it leaking either, with 18 psi and no shims inside of it.

My brother now has the RFL on his 3.1L turbo Cutlass and it will go off loudly just revving the engine while parked.

i just bought the RFL and i hooked the vacuum line up to nipple on top, bought the bov didnt open enough so that it could vent. because im pretty sure all bovs are supposed to vent at idle. i tried to push the piston thing up inside the bov body, and it moved up real quick, so i guess there is just barly enough vac to open the bov at idle, so what should i do?

They don't vent at idle. Make sure the hose or nipple your hooking up to has MANIFOLD vacuum at idle. You could be using the nipple that is ported vacuum.

man i dont kno what is going on. first iv heard that the bovs are supposed to vent at idle and that is normal, and now i here there not supposed to. the nipple that i have it hooked up to is the one that is on the right side if your facing the front of the car, looking at the windsheild. is that the right one?

Some BOVs vent at idle, and some dont. The RFL does not.

Manifold vac is a vac source that comes straight off the manifold as its name suggests. There are those that claim the nipples on the TB will do the job, others would suggest otherwise. I personally cap off the nipples at the TB, as I use a custom vac block.

With the RFL, it should not be open at idle. There should be enough vacuum that the piston will open easily with finger pressure at idle, but it should be fully closed. If it's open, you should add shims until it is shut at idle.

I also cap the throttle body nipples and use a port on the vacuum distribution manifold for everything, including the BOV. I would use the largest vacuum line you can with the RFL, preferably 1/4" ID hose. Personally I use 1/4" ID regular fuel hose because it is reinforced and much stronger than regular vacuum line. I also zip tie or clamp the hose on so the BOV gets the strongest vacuum/boost signal possible.
