I have a stock Wastegate on my T3/T04E Turbo and it just holds swingvalve shut at any boost. If I adjust the arm out then I can adjust my boost pressure down but this will also increase turbo lag because the swingvalve is partially open off the bat right? I wonder if anyone ever had a problem trying to get their stock wastegate to open the swingvalve or know any things to look out for. How does people check their wastegate also.

Connect the wastegate stright to the intake manf. It should open at 5psi. If not then you have a bad wastegate.

So is there a boost controller that control the stock cal to 11psi. Is that what the solonoid for? Since direct pressure from the intake would push the arm out at 5psi.

correct. the boost selinoid is controlled by the comp. if you just hook up a vac line from the intake mani to the wastegate it should open at 5-7 psi depending on can and the preload you set on it.

I got it figured out. I hook the lines up to a bad vacuum-boost source. It runs great!

Thanks for the help

similar problem... my WasteGate is connected to the solenoid, via a t-connection of some sort. but my WG still opens at 5psi, then slowly creeps up to 14psi. not enough room back there for me to get in & try a spring without taking off the intake. however, i can move the WG arm fairly easily. should i be able to do that?

any suggestions to get a solid 10-12psi?

BTW, it's a T2 intake manny & electronics, larger TB, w/ FMIC if that matters

thanks in advance
