It would be pointless to do so.

Get a junkyard map, if you can't find a late model turbo one, get the connector for an early one along with the early one. Wire colors are the same, splice it.. If you converted a TBI car to turbo, this should be a no brainer.

Youd rather spend 2 hours rigging up a diode to your existing map sensor, than to cut and splice a connector that would take you 5 minutes?

the 1 bar map wont read boost pressures... even if you put in a 'diode' to change its 'resistance'... There is a reason that turbo motors dont use 1 bar sensors, and theres a reason 1 bar sensors dont read boost... I'd be impressed if you could modify it to work, just get the RIGHT one and be done with it...

I have been researching for a s10 turbo a while. Same kinda deal. The computer wont be able to read any boost. You may be good for a couple psi but not much or you will detonate. Putting in a diode wont do anything really. The reason it is done on 2bar maps is so the computer wont cut out at above 14.7 psi, but then you have to take matters into your own hands and get cold starts and pressure switches. Just get a used MAP for now if possible. With a 1bar your computer cant see any boost so it wont add any fuel past 0 on your gauge.

The colors dont match up for the older map sensor connector and the 91+. if it helps i can give the color of the wires on both connectors.
