I'd say on average... 2 1/4"

I'm running 2 1/2", just because that is the size of my intercooler inlet/ outlet.

I too am running 2.5in. due to the size of my inlets. 2.5 is much easier to find than 2.25 I have noticed.

but what about turbulence from the 2.5 piping to the throttle body which is only 2.25. Or is that gona be a small difference and nothing to worry about

I read the following somewhere and it seemed reasonable:

For engines up to 350hp, 2.25 inch tubing works well. 350 to 500 hp installations should use 2.5 inch. Engines above 500hp should use 2.75 or 3 inch tubing.

I think it was precision turbo that used 3" tubing in thier IC kits for the GNs. They said that they used it for asthetic reasons over 2.5in. even though the 2.5in. actually performed slightly better. This was in a pretty high HP GN, but YMMV.
