im intercooling my 90 t1 and eliminating the stock air box. what is the hose coming off the oil return tube going to the air box? can i just block it off or run my pcv hose to it?

the vnt cars had a hose that went from the air box to the turbo drain tube to drain the oil from the air box back into the motor. but as far as I had heard only the vnt's got that hose. mabey someone added one earlier in the cars life.

I think all the 90s had that. I have a 90 voyager T1 and it had exactly that. I just blocked mine off. The line from my PCV hangs down over the tranny with a filter on it.

Strikes me that it might work well to drain oil out of a catch can if a person had a catch can.

My '91 T1 has it. I still use it with my S60 because it is part of the PCV design to provide vacuum to the crankcase in boost. If you eliminate the air cleaner part of the PCV setup you lose that. It may not matter much.
