Ok, so it's settled that this setup (with 2.5" downpipe only) will fall shy of 300hp.
Will the .63 housing upgrade help power throughout, or just in the topend?

I agree that an 18psi CAL and shimmed wastegate is the ticket to get close.
My +20s are only good to 18psi. Can I peak @20 without alky? Maybee just splash in octane booster for the weekend romps?

A couple more here- when does the stock SV or 2.5" SV become a restriction?

.63 housing will help mid and top end, minimal low end loss. It's worth it.
Turn the fuel pressure up 5 PSI and you should be good for 20 PSI.

Right away, check out Tu's dyno chart back to back with the 2.5-3 inch sv's. If I was buying a turbo again, I wouldn't hesistate to buy the 3 inch sv.

if u snapped a shaft on ur garret pushing 18 psi that wasnt all garret turbos problem. TONS of people have ran 18 psi daily for a long time without any ill effects, hell they ran at 14psi stock. 4 extra psi over stock isnt going to kill a garret.

The 2.25" and 2.5" SV along with the exhaust is a huge restriction on a bone stock car. Get rid of it ASAP Course you'll have to up the fuel then.

Bad turbo, lots of people run over 20 PSI daily on stock garrett's.

On the SV, a 2.5'' can be used in 300 WHP applications....with a stock T2 garrett the turbine housing is a far greater restriction.

I'll check that out tonite, thanks!
So the .63 housing and 3" SV will work well with the race- prepped head, right?

.63 T3 club now. it just kinda sucks swapping turbos.

OK, looks like we have a solid plan. Since it costs 300 to rebuild my turbo + the cost of housing (175), I will just save a little more for the S60 @TU.

Also the stock SV and exaust has to go now. Thanks to everyone for sharing your knowledge & experiences.

I may still ask about Megesquirt2 & boost management vs. comp CAL, but over at fuel/air & spark.

just for my $0.02 worth.
I had a 2 T28's ( hope it is the same as your T2, same exhaust anyway) on a 5.8 lt V8 chev. (works out to be 2.9 lt per side). With boost set at 12 psi on the internal waste gate, had boost creep to 17psi,at 6500 rpm,and engine made 750 hp and 700 ft/lbs torque.
(works out to 375 hp each turbo..... T28's). Engine feel over at 6500 rpm and was not happy.
Had 12 psi @ 4000 rpm with 600 hp and 700 ft/lb's soooo , if you divide by 2..... 300 hp and 350 ft/lbs....
( probaly wrong in my thinking....)
